      The theme was how to keep young folk safe, in online environments.

      Mr Carlos Ople discusses the dangers of game addiction, and some of the design features of games which limit learning and make addiciton easy.

      Sonnie Santos spoke eloquently about the need for parental involvement and engagement with their children, and the threats that some young folks have faced via the internet.

      The kids from SPECS learned some and enjoyed the day out!

      CLT&SPECS 013

      CLT have been working with staff at SPECS. This includes all levels of workers from Social Workers, volunteers, the Executive Director and pre-school teachers.

      Most hungry to learn were the boys and girls. They have been so eager to assist in setting up the machines and connecting parts.

      In the images you see a typical side bar happening while CLT works with staff. The youngsters would be peer learning, exchanging ideas, and information. In these pictures they are working through some basic math and astronomy learning games.

      The self direction and enthusiasm remind me so much of the idealized stories I here of the “hole in the wall” from Sujata Mitra in New Dehli.
